Coast Highway- Sonoma Headlands

I have painted these Sonoma Headlands just North of Bodega bay Ca. many times, but failed to get them right!

This one is one I am finally happy with, since I was able to get out of my own way and paint them as they truly are without trying to over dramatize.
It takes a while to grasp and understand a scene such as this and to blend all the subtle complexities with it's more ovbvious characteristics.
