My wish is that my work will reveal and convey the underlying character and kinetic spirit of the subject and not just the obvious and superficial.
Each painting is a series of riddles, in a labyrinth of what ifs. Really, it's always a matter of trial and error, never too certain of the destination, but recognizing it when you stumble into it. Otherwise, the work will be simply predictable formula, repeated over and over.
As such, I hope then to take my eye off the vista ahead, and include the beauty and importance of the leaves on the path as well, in order to convey to the viewer, the experience and entirety of subject as part of, not separate from it's surroundings.
Edges melting into edges, substance into substance, harmonies, and sparks which result as things come close to fusion.
PERSPECTIVES:
The final touch is the most difficult, because there are so many of them.
I have decided, that it is on the third day of working that my painting begins to make sense, so now, I always just start working on that third day!
A good painting is a series of corrected errors, a bad one, just a collection of errors.
